NHRC AND UNDP ANNOUNCE INITIATIVE ON TRANSITIONAL JUSTICE IN THE NORTH EAST

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) have announced the launch of a project aimed at Promoting Reconciliation, Reintegration and Transitional Justice in North Eastern Nigeria.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has tasked Nigerians, particularly victims of human rights violations to always seek redress in the Commission or the judiciary using the instrumentality of the law, saying that it pays to speak out in the face of injustice, discrimination and other forms of human rights violations.

The Shehu of Borno His Royal Majesty Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al'amin Elkenemi, has pledged his support for the promotion of Reconciliation, Reintegration, and Transitional Justice in the North East, saying if well implemented the programme could bring succour to his people who have suffered the harrowing effect of insurgency.
