The Independent Investigative Panel on Human Rights Violation by the defunct SARS and other Units of the Nigerian Police force has stated that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has access to the files and other relevant records at the IGP Intelligence Response Team Unit (IRT).

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has developed a short code (6472) to serve as easy access to the Commission and other relevant stakeholders on complaints on human rights violations, especially those bothering on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).

Counsel to respondents at the ongoing investigative panel on defunct SARS and other units of the Nigerian Police have insisted that their defence will be hinged on the copy of a court judgment on the matter in question before the panel.

Counsel to personnel of the Nigerian Police Force, Fidelis Ogbobe Esq on Monday stated before the panel that the allegation of malicious prosecution brought against the Police by the petitioner could not be considered because the State has powers to investigate and prosecute any citizen.
